Endless Possibilities … The On-Purpose Person

I’ll speak to you today about Vision, Passion, Purpose and Faith.

Vision

You need to spend some time thinking about what do you want to be in life, what do you want to achieve? Too many adults are drifting through life without a purpose and as such they lack the passion, zest and verve for life and work. Dream big, see it in your mind’s eye and know that once you are prepared to work to achieve it you can. You have endless opportunities, the road ahead is full of promises and like any other road you’ll find some bends, twists and turns, maybe some potholes. Keep your eyes steadfastly focused on the vision, your right future and you’ll make it. Remember ‘a bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn’.

Jack Canfield said ‘when you create the vision make it so big that when you achieve it you’ll know it’s only God’

Purpose

Each of us has been placed here for a purpose. Our job is to find what that purpose is. Seek and you will find. Read the book ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ by Rick Warren. When you are on purpose life is exciting, wonderful. My friend Alvin Day said ‘Chase money and you will be in want all your life because you will never catch it. Chase your purpose and money will chase you, overtake you and embrace you’.

Passion

Be passionate about everything you do. Put your all into it even if you do not like what you’re given to do. The real test of who we are is how well we do something we do not like to do because all of us with proper training can do well what we like to do. Pursue excellence in all you do. Keep improving everyday!

Faith

With God ALL things are possible. Believe, trust and demonstrate faith. There will be many to discourage you especially when things are not going so well. Remember God is your Source and from God all things flow.

We choose to travel on one of two roads in life. One is the broad and well traveled road [that leads] to mediocrity, the other less traveled is the road to greatness and meaning. The path to mediocrity suffocates human potential. The path to greatness unleashes and realizes human potential. The path to mediocrity is the short cut quick fix approach to life, the path to greatness is a process of sequential growth from the inside out. Deep within each of us is an inner longing to live a life of greatness, contribution and meaning.

All of us can consciously decide to leave behind a life of mediocrity and to live a life of greatness – at home, at work, in the community. Regardless of circumstances we can achieve great things.  See this greatness first with your mind’s eyes, taste it feel it want it and then go for it. All things are possible with God. Choose the higher road. We all have the power to decide to live a great life. Start with having a great day, everyday.

I close with this poem from Beverley Nadler that sums up Vision, Passion, Purpose and Faith. It is titled:

I CAN!

by Beverly Nadler

I look in the mirror and ask myself
What do I want to be?
What do I want to have and do?
The choice is up to me.

Created in the image of God
The bible says we are.
And with God all things are possible –
So reach for the highest star!

First we have to set our goals,
Then create our plan –
And when doubts and fears get in the way,
Keep on saying “I can!”

Face each day with confidence –
Stand tall, with your head held high!
Believe in yourself and you’ll make it.
You can, if only you’ll try.

Dare to hold fast to your dream
While you do what you must do.
Always keep your eye on your vision –
The wisdom inside will guide you.

Take action – get out of the shadows
And step out into the sun!
For the only race you can win in life
Is the race that you have run.

We measure success by money and wealth –
But so such better by far
Is the success of feeling the Power inside
When you know who you really are.

Each one of us is a special person.
We’re all one of a kind,
With untapped potential that awakens
When you learn how to use your mind.

Now when I look in the mirror
I finally love what I see.
I can do anything I really want to –
Thank God – I’m ME!
